Unlike Western astrology, which is strongly linked to months and star sign ‘seasons’, the Chinese zodiac starts over every 12 years. Each zodiac is represented by an animal sign, and your animal year will come around in your birth year, and again when you are 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, and so on.
According to ancient Chinese superstition, in your birth sign year, you will offend the God of Age and will generally have bad luck during that year, though it doesn’t mean that all aspects of life are tainted by poor fortune.
Sometimes different animals may be particularly lucky in love, as the Dragon is this month, according to Tarot reader and astrologer, Valeria Black.
Revealing her predictions to Your Tango, she wanted that “actively seeking” love “often leads to disappointment”, adding that “luck alone isn't sufficient for us to appreciate our romantic prowess”.
However, with this knowledge, it's possible to transform a brush with fate into a strong, long-lasting bond.

Rabbit (1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011)
Valeria said: "Rabbit, the energy of love for you in August is all about harmonious give and take. Your luck will thrive when you lean into this. If you are single, you are encouraged to pay attention to how you feel when you engage with someone new, and if your self-esteem feels shot and light hints of panic emerge, it's a sign you are gifting the wrong person your precious time."
Healthy boundaries should be set for those in relationships, with their partner and people outside of the partnership. Luck will flow when you make space for what you want and remove what you don't, claimed the astrologer.

Valeria explained that the energy of love for you in August is collaborative, with high levels of camaraderie thrown in the mix. If you are single, look for this when engaging with new people.
She said: "Can you imagine yourself collaborating on a creative project together, even if it's just a fun prank or a dance for TikTok? That's where you will find your luck. Inviting positivity will translate to even more positivity. But the opposite is something to watch out for!"

The Monkey may notice a whimsical quality to the energy of love this month. According to Valeria, those who are single shouldn't be surprised if they are suddenly more popular and have more people showing interest in them.
She explained that your luck will bring you a glow-up, but that's not all. Luck will "pull the string behind the scenes" for those in a relationship, making it subtly better. Valeria warned: "It will only make its presence known if you are the only one in the relationship who cares about it."

Dragon, the energy of love this month for you has a distinct fiery quality to it, said Valeria. She added: "You are urged to be proactive and speak your mind. The right people will find you, and then love will waltz in. If you are single, apply this message to all aspects of your life. Your luck in love won't be restricted to just your love life. For some, it will cross your paths with the right person (or the person they know) through a completely non-romantic arena."
For those in a relationship, now's the time to plan for the future, including holiday plans for the end of the year.
According to the astrologer, the Dragon will have another big boost during that time - until the Year of The Snake comes around in 2025. Valeria urged: "Take charge of your destiny and write a beautiful love story in August!"
